Australia - ACCC moves to protect Australian businesses from Spanish-based directory listing company

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has instituted proceedings against a Spanish-based directory listing company, European City Guide S L, trading as Industry and Commerce.

The ACCC has alleged that between 2006 and 2009, Industry and Commerce engaged in misleading or deceptive conduct and made false or misleading representations, in breach of sections 52 and 53 of the Trade Practices Act 1974.
